Tell us about yourself and your research interests:
I am a physician-scientist pursuing a career in radioimmunotheranostics for translational research in cancer care and infection imaging to improve precision medicine and ‘virtual biopsy’ in Africa. I am a resident doctor (nuclear medicine and molecular imaging) at the University College Hospital Ibadan, pursuing a postgraduate degree (MSc. Immunology) at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

I hope to integrate both fields to improve our patient care and management, to undertake research focused on finding affordable solutions and democratizing precision medicine for cancers especially endocrine and neuroendocrine tumours as well as create theranostic value for ‘difficult’ solid tumours such as in neuro-oncology.

My current research project focuses on the influence of gut microbiome on gut-thyroid axis in the context of thyroid disorders (autoimmune diseases and cancers) using targeted sequencing and metabolomics. Currently, I am honing my proficiency with immunological techniques and wet lab skills.

I hope to lead a dynamic brain research laboratory that improves the options of non-invasive diagnosis, targeted therapy and response assessment to treatment in Africa.
