Tell us about yourself and your research interests:
I am a biomedical laboratory technologist with extensive experience in immunology and vaccinology research. Currently, I work with the Immunomodulation and Vaccines (I-Vac) Group at the MRC/UVRI-LSHTM Uganda Research Unit, contributing to the VAnguard project, which investigates how biological, structural, and social factors influence vaccine efficacy. My responsibilities include sample processing, performing serological and immunological assays, and presenting data, all of which support our efforts to establish immune correlates of vaccine impact in East African communities.

Previously, I contributed to vaccine development and evaluation trials for HIV, COVID-19, and other infectious diseases, gaining skills in ELISAs, flow cytometry, virus neutralization assays, and pseudovirus generation. My contributions to several peer-reviewed publications reflect my commitment to advancing local and global vaccine research.

My research interests lie in understanding immune heterogeneity and how environmental or host factors, such as prior exposures, nutritional status, or co-infections, influence vaccine responses. I am particularly interested in the use of immunological and serological markers to identify populations at risk of suboptimal vaccine-induced protection. Through my work, I aim to support the development of more effective, context-specific vaccination strategies that address the unique immunological profiles of vulnerable populations in Africa and beyond.
